Stormwater Best Management Practice (BMP) Maintenance Online Survey

June 2012 (volume 7 - issue 6)

Conducted by the Stormwater BMP Maintenance Task Committee, under the Stormwater Infrastructure Committee, which is part of the Water, Wastewater & Stormwater Council under the Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Online Survey for Asset Managers

This task committee is seeking your input regarding maintenance of BMPs. Please share your knowledge and experience by completing the BMP Maintenance Survey. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete and provide us with a wealth of information for our research. The information collected in the survey will be published in an up-coming report. (complete the survey).

Purpose

  • Generate a detailed maintenance protocol for each BMP type.
  • Generate region/physiographic province-specific guidance for BMP maintenance.
  • Literature review to determine effects of proper maintenance on BMP efficacy.
  • Case studies reporting on BMP maintenance activities for various classes of asset managers (e.g., commercial, transportation, institutional, military, etc.).
  • Generate a detailed maintenance protocol for each BMP type.
